Juventus 0 – 1 Udinese
. 78′ Cyril Théréau
It’s the “New Juventus era” currently Italy’s Champions looking to win the 5th consecutive Scudetto. Yet, the first match is a wake up call for the Bianconeri.
What a rocking surprise, a slap for Juventus in front of their own fans! Udinese scoring the goal in the 78th minute. Hello, it seems Juventus defense are still on vacation leaving Cyril Théréau all alone in front of goalkeeper Gigi Buffon and hello, you bet, not wasting the chance and bam! There you go the goal. The assist is by Done with a cross from the right.
The giant, Goliath defeated by a determined Udinese believing in a victory and going against all odds. It’s a great start for Udinese.
Curious facts, Juventus losing the first game in Serie A only once in the last 31 Serie A championship in 2010 against Bari with a 0-1. Juventus have not lost a home game in the debut of Serie A showing stats of 40 home games, 33 wins, and 7 draws. Juventus vs Udinese have played twice in a debut of Serie A with the Vecchia Signora winning both games without conceding goals. Udinese have not defeat Juventus since January 2011 with stats of 2 draws and 6 defeats.
