Forza e Cuore Cup kicks off on Thursday

Fiorentina eSports and the eSports teams of Parma, Sassuolo, Cagliari, Verona, Lecce, SPAL and Monza are to do battle in the Forza e Cuore Cup this week.

The matches will be played on FIFA 2020 for PS4 and shown on Fiorentina’s official Twitch channel and the Twitch channels of the other clubs involved.

Some of the matches will also be streamed on Fiorentina’s official Facebook page.

Commenting on the event, Fiorentina chief executive Joe Barone said: “First of all, I’d like to thank the clubs taking part in this tournament. We hope to entertain our fans, who are stuck at home at the moment, but we also want this to be an opportunity to publicise the Forza e Cuore campaign, which has already raised over €860,000 thanks to the help of so many people. Those funds mean we’re able to support the work of doctors and hospital facilities committed to fighting COVID-19 in these difficult times.”

The tournament will take place over two days, with the eight teams facing off on Thursday from 15:00 CEST in a round-robin format.

The best four will then play the semi-finals and finals on Saturday 25 April starting at 16:00.

Details on how to make a contribution to the Forza e Cuore fundraiser will be provided during the live matches on Twitch. The same information is available here.
