🏆 👉  AC Milan win the Champions League Group Stage Group E Matchday 2 game crushing Dinamo Zagreb with a poker on Wednesday 14 September 2022 at the Stadion Maksimir in Zagreb, Croatia. Milan beat Zagreb totally dominating the match with a clear 0 to 4: Matteo Gabbia opened, then in the second half Rafael Leão, Olivier Giroud from the penalty spot and Ljubicic’s own goal. The victory that allows the Rossoneri to overtake Salzburg in 2nd place. AC Milan have scored four goals in a Champions League away match for the fourth time in their history. The previous one was against Fenerbahçe back in November 2005.

Group E: Chelsea 10, Milan 7, Salzburg 6, Dinamo Zagreb 4. Londoners already sure of first place, for Milan, it will be enough not to lose at home against the Austrians to qualify to the Round of 16.

In the first leg, played at San Siro on 14 September last, the Rossoneri won 3 to 1 (Giroud, Saelemaekers, Orsic, Pobega).

AC Milan opened the score in the 39th minute. Defender Matteo Gabbia defeated Dinamo Zagreb goalkeeper from very close range with a headed shot to the center. The assist is by Sandro Tonali. This is Gabbia’s first goal for AC Milan.

AC Milan increased the score for the 2-0 in the 50th minute. Forward Rafael Leão scored with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Theo Hernández.

The party is all for AC Milan in Croatia! Referee Szymon Marciniak gave a penalty to AC Milan conceded by Robert Ljubicic after a foul on Sandro Tonali. Forward Olivier Giroud converted the penalty in the 59th minute with a left-footed shot to the top left corner.

Everything is working out for the Rossoneri. In the 69th minute, an own goal by Robert Ljubičić.

   Stats before the game: Dinamo Zagreb have lost all five games to AC Milan in European competition (including qualifiers). Against no team has he been defeated several times in his European history (five even against Ajax). AC Milan have won both European away games against Dinamo Zagreb: a 3-1 win in the Cup Winners’ Cup in September 1973 and a 3-0 win in a Champions League qualifier in August 2000. Dinamo Zagreb is the team that AC Milan have faced several times in European competitions, always finding the victory: five wins in five comparisons. Dinamo Zagreb have lost only one of their last five UEFA Champions League home games (2W, 2N): against Manchester City in December 2019. The Croatian side had lost all five home games prior to this series. Milan’s only victory in this Champions League came in the previous match against Dinamo Zagreb, on the second day (1N, 2P). Overall, Stefan Pioli has only won two of his 10 games as manager of the Rossoneri in the competition, completing two draws and six defeats.
