🏆👉 Juventus lost the Champions League Group Stage – Group H Matchday 5 game against Benfica at the Estádio do SL Benfica on Tuesday 25 October 2022.   The defeat is a huge disaster because Juventus are officially out of the UEFA Champions League. Benfica and PSG will go to the Round of 16. Benfica snatches the pass for the second round in advance, proving that they deserve this passage of the round, with a solid game and well-orchestrated. Juventus, on the other hand, proved to be in great difficulty for an abundant 70 minutes reacting late, entering the game only at the end with the entry of the young Iling-Junior, Soulé and Miretti. Bottom line, Juventus will not go to the Round of 16 of the Champions League for their first time since 2013/14 season. Painful.

Juventus have only won 3 points after their first five games in #UCL this term, their lowest tally at this stage in the competition.

The match is released at minute 17 with Antonio Silva’s header on the development of a corner kick. The equalizer came four minutes later with Moise Kean, who reaffirmed on the net after Vlachodimos’ save on Vlahovic’s sure-hit header. Not even the time to get back into the game that Juan Cuadrado touches with his hand in the area and concedes the penalty to Benfica, made by Joao Mario. At the 35th comes the third goal of the hosts with the heel of Rafa Silva. In the second half, Benfica close the match with a brace from Rafa Silva. Allegri brings in the youngsters and one of them, Iling-Junior, turns the game around. At the 77th the English midfielder serves with a splendid cross Milik who shortens the distances in the turn, then, two minutes later, clears and serves another strong ball in the center: Soulé tries to conclude but a carom favors McKennie who makes 4-3 and reopens the game. In the final, Juventus went close to the equalizer several times, but did not find the way to the goal and collapsed!

Benfica opened the score in the 17th minute. António Silva defeated Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny with a headed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Enzo Fernández with a cross following a corner conceded by Weston McKennie.

Juventus equalized for the 1-1 in the 22nd minute. Dušan Vlahović defeated Benfica goalkeeper Odisseas Vlachodimos from very close range with a headed shot following a corner.

Chaos for Juventus! Benfica increased the score for the 3-1 in the 35th minute. Rafa Silva scored from very close range with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by João Mário.

Juventus just living a nightmare in Portugal! Benfica scored a poker in the 50th minute. Rafa Silva with a left-footed shot to the center. The assist is by Alejandro Grimaldo.

Two minutes later after Milik’s goal, in the 79th minute, Juventus scored again! Midfielder Weston McKennie scored from very close range with a left-footed shot to the bottom right corner.

Stats before the game: Benfica have won all three home games against Juventus in European competition: 2-0 in the semi-final of the European Cup in 1968, 2-1 in the UEFA Cup in 1993 and 2-1 in the Europa League in 2014. Juventus have only won two of their last eight away games against Portuguese teams in European competitions (2N, 4P) and no success has come in the most recent two – 1-1 against Sporting Lisbon in October 2017 and 1-2 against Porto in February 2021, both in the Champions League.  Benfica could qualify for the Champions League knockout stage for the second consecutive season; he has only once previously made it through the group stage in two consecutive editions, in 2015/16 and 2016/17, with Rui Vitória on the bench.   Juventus could be eliminated in the Champions League group stage for the first time since the 2013/14 season, with Antonio Conte on the bench.
