Scotland’s FIFA World Cup 2026 Squad
Scotland’s head coach, Steve Clarke, has made it official by announcing his 26-man squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup. Among the chosen players, there are 3 hailing from the Italian Serie A: Bologna midfielder Lewis Ferguson, Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay, and Torino forward Che Adams.
Group C of the 2026 FIFA World Cup is from June 13 to 24, 2026. This group includes Brazil, Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland. The top two teams, and possibly the third-placed team, will move on to the round of 32.

Lewis Ferguson, the midfielder for Bologna, will don shirt No. 20 while representing Scotland. In 2022, Ferguson made a successful transition from Aberdeen to Bologna. He set a new record for the most goals scored by a Scotsman in Serie A, surpassing the legendary Denis Law. The 2023/24 season was particularly remarkable for the midfielder, as he was appointed captain of the club and recognized as Serie A’s midfielder of the year, all while becoming the top scoring Scotsman in Serie A history. In 2025, he made further history by leading the team to a Coppa Italia victory for the first time in 51 years, making him only the second Scottish player to lift the prestigious trophy.
Scott McTominay made the move to Napoli after concluding a seven-year stint with Manchester United on August 30, 2024. On September 26, Scott netted his first goal for Napoli during a 5–0 triumph over their Derby delle Due Sicilie rivals, Palermo, in the Coppa Italia. Amazingly, on October 4, McTominay found the net for his first Serie A goal, scoring just 25 seconds into the match in a 3–1 victory against Como.
On April 27, 2025, he scored both goals in a 2–0 win over Torino, propelling Napoli to the top of the Serie A standings. McTominay’s five league goals in April earned him the title of Serie A Player of the Month, making him the first Scottish player to achieve this honor. In a magical moment on May 23, McTominay scored Napoli’s opening goal with a spectacular acrobatic kick against Cagliari, leading to a 2–0 victory that secured the club’s fourth Serie A title. He also received the Serie A MVP award for the 2024–25 season and was included in the Serie A Team of the Season, marking a successful first year with the club. Additionally, he earned a nomination for the prestigious Ballon d’Or award due to his outstanding performances throughout the season.
During the 2025-26 Season, McTominay netted the opening goal of the season with a header on 23 August 2025, in the 34th minute against Sassuolo. Two months later, on 25 October 2025, he scored against rivals Inter Milan, helping Napoli secure the top position in the Serie A standings. That goal was subsequently recognized as the Serie A Goal of the Month for October 2025. On 22 December 2025, McTominay contributed to the Napoli squad that triumphed over Bologna with a score of 2–0, clinching the 2025–26 Supercoppa Italiana in Riyadh.
