AC Milan succumbing to the pressure failing to win the Europa League Round of 32, First Leg game against Crvena zvezda on Thursday 18 February 2021 at the Stadion Rajko Mitić in Belgrade, Serbia.   A tough draw because Milan had the victory until the 93rd minute when conceding the equalizer goal for Crvena.  Milan arriving to this game after losing the leadership in the Serie A and looking to boost the morale of the team ahead of the Milan Derby.  Crvena zvezda played with 10 players since the 77th minute after Referee Tasos Sidiropoulos gave a second yellow card to Rodić .  Yet, nothing is lost, 2 precious away goals grabbing 1 point.

Referee Tasos Sidiropoulos gives a penalty to Crvena zvezda equalizing for the 1-1 in the 52nd minute with Guélor Kanga Kaku defeating Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma converting a penalty with a right footed shot. The penalty is conceded by Alessio Romagnoli after a handball.

A cold shower for AC Milan conceding the equalizer goal in the 93rd minute! Unacceptable!

  • Crvena zvezda has never beaten AC Milan in a European match (including qualifying) having two draws and two defeats in four previous matches. The last meeting between Stella Rossa and Milan was in August 2006 in the Champions League qualifiers; victory is for the Rossoneri 2-1, with Filippo Inzaghi and Clarence Seedorf in Belgrade.  The Red Star have not won in six games against an Italian opponent in European competitions (2N, 4P): the Serbs’ latest success dates back to the match against Roma in December 2005 in the UEFA Cup.  AC Milan have won their last two Europa League matches: excluding qualifiers, the Rossoneri have not had a streak of at least three wins in European competitions since November 2008 (four in that case).
