🏆👉 Atalanta win the UEFA Europa League Round of 16, First Leg, defeating Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday 18 March 2022 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, Italy.   Bayern ahead with Aranguiz then Atalanta with a comeback by Muriel and Malinovskyi overturned the score. Muriel scoring the third goal. Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen meeting for the first time in European competitions.   Atalanta  have only won one of four games against German sides (2D, 1L): success against Cologne in the 1990-91 UEFA Cup round of 16.   The Second Leg will be played on Thursday 17 March in Germany.

Bayer Leverkusen opened the score in the 11th minute. It is Charles Aránguiz to defeat Atalanta goalkeeper Juan Musso with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Florian Wirtz.

Atalanta equalized for the 1-1 in the 23rd minute. It is Ruslan Malinovskyi to defeat Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky with a left-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Luis Muriel.
