Lazio ending the UEFA Europa League Group Stage Matchday 3 game with a draw against Olympique Marseille on Thursday 21 October 2021 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome, Italy.   Lazio getting the first draw after 20 Europa League games.  Lazio with 4 points are in the 2nd position and Marseille in the 3rd position with 3 points. The leader of the Group is Galatasaray with 7 points.

We might say Lazio avoid falling down at home, though the goal never arrived. In the second half, Lazio having at least three great opportunities to take the lead, but without being able to pierce an excellent goalkeeper Pau Lopez denying every goal chance. The goal by forward Ciro Immobile was ruled out for offside. Lazio will play Matchday 4 against Marseille again, this time, in France.

Previously, Lazio have won all four games against Marseille in major European competitions, including successes in both matches of the 2018-19 Europa League group stage.  However, this one is the first draw.   Marseille have lost all their last five games against Italian teams in European competitions: Inter (one match in 2011-12), Napoli (two matches in 2013-14) and Lazio (two matches in 2018-19).
