Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:

Inter, 5th position with 15 points and a positive goal difference of +7

Sassuolo failing to win the Serie A Week 9 home game defeated by Inter on Saturday 28 November 2020 at the Mapei Stadium in Sassuolo, Italy.  Inter making a revival with this convincing victory after their disastrous defeat in the UEFA Champions League at the Meazza Stadium losing 0-2 against Real Madrid. Inter reaching 18 points same like Sassuolo, though, having a better goal difference with +10 compared to Sassuolo +8. Surely, a terrible match for Sassuolo defender Chiriches making an own goal and a much needed victory for Inter.   Sassuolo losing their first game this season despite having 65% ball possession.

The match started paying a tribute to Argentinean Diego Armando Maradona with a minute of silence as indicated by the Lega Serie A.  All the players wearing a black band on the left arm.   👉  Diego Armando Maradona Died at 60 years old on November 25, 2020

Congratulations to Inter midfielder Ivan Perisic playing his 150th game in Serie A.

Inter opening the score in the 4th minute with the South American combo in action! It is Chilean forward Alexis Sánchez to defeat from very close range Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli with a right footed shot in the bottom right corner. The assist is by Argentinean forward Lautaro Martínez.

Oopsssss….. Sassuolo conceding an own goal by defender Vlad Chiriches in the 14th minute with Chiriches. What a blow!

Sassuolo is just unrecognizable and unable to react. Inter increasing the score for the 0-3 in the 60th minute. It is Roberto Gagliardini to score with a right footed shot in the bottom left corner. The assist is by Matteo Darmian.

Here is SASSUOLO official starting lineup – formation by Coach Roberto De Zerbi:
