Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Lazio, 5th position with 14 points and a positive goal difference of +5
Hellas Verona, 15th position with 15 points and a goal difference of “0”

Hellas Verona humiliated Lazio thanks to the brilliant poker by forward Giovanni Simeone. Verona win the Serie A Week 9 game against Lazio on Sunday 24 October 2021 at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium in Verona, Italy.  Hellas Verona needed the victory to keep moving away the relegation zone, and they got it in grand style!.  After winning four of the first six games of the 2000s against Lazio in Serie A, Verona has achieved only one success in the last 11 against the Bianconeri in the top league, with three draws and seven defeats in the partial.

Verona have lost all their last four Serie A home games against Lazio: in the Serie A, the Gialloblù have suffered more consecutive internal defeats only against Fiorentina and Torino (five against both).  After a series of 10 unsuccessful home games in Serie A (4N, 6P), Verona have won the two most recent home games and do not reach three just from the previous three on the negative strip, with Ivan Juric on the bench. Lazio has not yet obtained a clean sheet in this league: it is since 1954/55 that it does not start a Serie A championship without ever keeping the door untouched in the first nine games played.
Lazio missed the appointment with the goal in five of the last seven league transfers, the same number of games without goals recorded in the previous 39 Serie A away games. Verona and Lazio (both nine) are two of the three teams with the most goals in the early stages of this league (the other at nine is Inter).

Hellas Verona opening the score in the 30th minute. Forward Giovanni Simeone defeating Lazio goalkeeper Pepe Reina with a right footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Gianluca Caprari.

Talking about motivation! In the 36th minute, it is again Giovanni Simeone to delight the fans with a right footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Miguel Veloso.

Lazio shortening the distance in the 46th minute. Forward Ciro Immobile defeating Hellas Verona goalkeeper Montipò with a right footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

A game to remember for Giovanni Simeone scoring a third goal to celebrate this hat-trick in the 62nd minute.
