Udinese, 13th position with 9 points and a negative goal difference of -2

Atalanta with a sprint race to climb towards the top 5 positions seeing their chances crumble. Atalanta needed to win the Serie A Week 9 game against Udinese  and ended up with a draw on Sunday 24 October 2021 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, Italy.  Atalanta Coach Gian Piero Gasperini got a red card for protesting in the 91st minute.  Atalanta are now unbeaten in eightgames against Udinese in Serie A, thanks to six wins and a draw: in the period, from 2018 onwards, Bergamo have won more games (7 vs 6) and scored more goals (28 vs 21) only against Sassuolo.

Atalanta have won the last four home games against Udinese in Serie A, already breaking records against Udinese in the competition: it is the same number of internal successes achieved in the previous 19 internal challenges (10D, 5P). Atalanta have conceded goals in all four of their last league games: it has not scored five Serie A games in a row since November 2020 without a clean sheet (10 in that case).  After their streak of seven consecutive home wins, Atalanta have had only one success in their last five home games (1N, 3P) – should they not get points, Bergamo would find themselves with their worst start in the first five home games since 2004 / 05 (four points).  Two draws in a row for Udinese in Serie A: the Friulian team has not recorded three in a row in the league since March 2020 (four in that case).

Atalanta opening the score in the 56th minute. Ruslan Malinovskyi defeating Udinese goalkeeper Silvestri with a left footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Mario Pasalic.
