Atalanta failing to win the Serie A Week 5 game on Saturday 24 October 2020 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, Italy. The unexpected result is for Atalanta, yep, the beautiful “Dea”, falling at the Gewiss Stadium.  Atalanta who had a superb performance in the UEFA Champions League Midtjylland 0-4 Atalanta.  Whatever happened to Atalanta returning to the Serie A with flat tires???????

The merit is for Sampdoria Coach Claudio Ranieri and his players conquering this away victory while Atalanta suffering their 2nd lost this season. Sampdoria winning their third consecutive victory reaching nine points from five games. Atalanta have lost their last two Serie A games. Sampdoria’s leader Fabio Quagliarella, 37-year-old scoring his fourth goal of the season. The black note for Sampdoria was Quagliarella failing to convert the penalty saved by goalkeeper Marco Sportiello. Atalanta losing the third position too!

Sampdoria opening the score in the 13th minute. It is forward Fabio Quagliarella to deliver aleft footed shot in the top left corner after the assist by Mikkel Damsgaard.

Atalanta with a headache conceding another goal. In the 59th minute, Morten Thorsby with a headed shot in the bottom left corner. The assist is by Jakub Jankto.

Atalanta shortening the distance in the 80th minute. Duván Zapata converting a penalty with a right footed shot in the center. The penalty is conceded by Keita Baldé after a foul on Zapata.


Sampdoria sealing the victory in the 92nd minute. It is Jakub Jankto to score with a left footed shot in the bottom left corner. The assist is by Keita Baldé.
