👉  Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Juventus, 2nd position with 69 points and a positive goal difference of +26
Empoli, 14th position with 39 points and a negative goal difference of -13

Empoli delighted their fans by winning the Serie A Week 36 game against Juventus on Monday 22 May 2023 at the Carlo Castellani Stadium in Empoli, Italy. Definitely, a masterpiece evening for Empoli who spread in the second half thanks to Francesco Caputo’s brace and Roberto Piccoli’s goal. Federico Chiesa goal is not enough for the bianconeri, not very incisive in attack and with serious defensive gaps.

Empoli already safe and able to collect seven points in the last three outings. Juventus are returning from three consecutive victories in the league and the recent penalty, eager to keep in the running for the Champions League.   A tough slap for Juventus because after the game and finding out the FIGC verdict of -10 points, they went down from the 2nd (69 points) to the 7th position with 59 points.

✅   The FIGC sanctioned Juventus a penalty of 10 points for transfer deals
