The hosts took the lead in the first minutes with Cyriel Dessers and legitimized the advantage in the rest of the match. The Tuscans came out in the second half, holding the ball in hand, but without creating real chances. After 4 points in the previous two games, Empoli stopped and remain in 14th place.

The only goal of the match was scored in the 4th minute. Cyriel Dessers defeated Empoli goalkeeper with a left-footed shot to the center. The assist is by Leonardo Sernicola.
