Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Sampdoria, 15th position with 26 points and a negative goal difference of -12
Juventus, 4th position with 53 points and a positive goal difference of +17

Sampdoria with 26 points failed to win the Serie A Week 29 game on Saturday 12 March 2022 at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in Genoa, Italy. There are 9 more games after this one. Juventus remain within the Champions League zone. Maya Yoshida’s own goal and Álvaro Morata’s brace give Juventus three points, Abdelhamid Sabiri’s first Sampdoria goal is useless.  Juventus goalkeeper Szczesny has become the first goalkeeper to have saved three Serie A penalties in a row since Emiliano Viviano did in the 2017/18 campaign (four). After the 30 October defeat against Verona, Juventus have remained unbeaten in their last eight league away games (5W, 3D) and have not done better since the period December 2017-March 2019 when, still under Massimiliano Allegri, they even reached 26 away games in a row without defeat. Sampdoria starting with the wrong foot. In the 23rd minute, the own goal by Maya Yoshida gave the lead to Juventus.

Juventus scored for the 2-0 in the 34th minute. Referee Paolo Valeri gave a penalty to Juventus conceded by Omar Colley after a foul on Moise Kean. It is Spanish forward Álvaro Morata to convert the penalty defeating Sampdoria goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner.

Sampdoria failed to shorten the distance in the 74th minute. Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny saves Antonio Candreva’s right-footed shot penalty in the bottom left corner. The penalty is conceded by Adrien Rabiot after a handball.

Sampdoria shortened the distance in the 84th minute for the 1-2. It is Abdelhamid Sabiri to score with a right footed shot to the top left corner. It’s Sabiri first goal with Sampdoria.

Juventus sealing the victory in the 88th minute with the headed goal by Álvaro Morata.

✅ From 2015 onwards Sampdoria and Juventus have never drawn in Serie A, with two Sampdoria successes and 12 Bianconeri; during the period the Ligurians lost more Serie A matches only against Napoli (13). Juventus have scored at least two goals in all the last six games played against Sampdoria, considering all competitions (16 goals in total): six wins in this set for the bianconeri. From 2013 onwards, Juventus have lost three Serie A away games against Sampdoria (6W), only against Roma (four) and Napoli (five) have the Bianconeri lost more away games in the period. Sampdoria have won their last two league home games without conceding a goal (4-0 against Sassuolo and 2-0 against Empoli); the blucerchiati have not done better since the period December 2018-January 2019, when they won four home games in a row, three of which without conceding goals. In 2022 Juventus is the team that has scored the most points in Serie A: 19, the result of five wins and four draws in nine games; the bianconeri are one of the five formations of the five major European tournaments still unbeaten in this calendar year (with Sevilla, Liverpool, Barcelona and Newcastle).
