Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Atalanta, 6th position with 47 points and a positive goal difference of +19
Genoa, 19th position with 18 points and a negative goal difference of -25

Atalanta failed to win the Serie A Week 29 game against Genoa ending with a goalless draw on Sunday 13 March 2022 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, Italy.  In the first half few emotions, Luis Muriel hits the post. In the second half a clear opportunity for Pasalic, dangerous Ligurians on the counterattack with Mattia Destro and Frendrup but the result is not unblocked.  Genoa draw seven matches in a row for the first time in its history in Serie A; in the last 30 years, only Inter have drawn seven consecutive games in the top flight (between October and November 2004, with Roberto Mancini at the helm).  In the next round of the championship for Atalanta, an away match against Bologna, Genoa will play at home with Torino.

Gian Piero Gasperini is the only coach to have crossed the 200 bench finish line with two different teams in Serie A, in the era of three points to win: 232 at the helm of Genoa and 217 with Atalanta.

Stats before the game.  Atalanta have remained unbeaten in 11 of their last 12 matches (8W, 3N) against Genoa in Serie A; the only success of the Griffin in the partial dates back to 22/12/18 (3-1).  Atalanta and Genoa drew both their last matches at the Gewiss Stadium in the league: the two teams have never recorded three draws in a row at the Dea’s home in Serie A.  Atalanta have lost three of their last five league games (1W, 1N): as many as in all the previous 22 of this tournament. The Dea could suffer two losses in a row in Serie A for the first time since October 2020.  Atalanta is the team with the highest negative difference (-13) between points earned at home (17) and those obtained away (30) this season in the top five European leagues.  Genoa have not won any of their last 25 league games (15N, 10P); only three teams in the history of Serie A have entered a longer streak of consecutive matches without any success: Ancona between 1993 and 2004 (30), Perugia between 2003 and 2004 (26) and Varese, two times, between 1965 and 1966 (26) and between 1971 and 1972 (28).
