Inter with a major flop losing the Serie A Week 28 game on Saturday 1 April 2023 at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milan, Italy.  Fiorentina conquered the Meazza and Inter lost their third consecutive game. This is a prestigious victory for Fiorentina beating Inter in Serie A for the first time since 2017.

Fiorentina opened the score in the 53rd minute. Giacomo Bonaventura defeated Inter goalkeeper Onana from very close range with a headed shot to the bottom left corner following a corner conceded by Robin Gosens.

  Stats before the game: Inter and Fiorentina have drawn 55 of their 169 matches in Serie A, the picture is completed by 70 Nerazzurri victories and 44 Viola victories; the Milanese have drawn more matches in the tournament only against Milan (56), while the Tuscans have recorded more “X” signs only against Roma (60). Inter have remained unbeaten in their last 11 league matches against Fiorentina (W6, D5), the last Viola success against the Nerazzurri in Serie A dates back to 22 April 2017 (5-4 at the Franchi). Inter and Fiorentina drew in their last league match at the Meazza (1-1 on 19 March 2022) and have not recorded consecutive draws at the Nerazzurri’s home in Serie A since the period between 1990 and 1992 (three in that case). Fiorentina have remained unbeaten in seven of their last eight matches in the second leg against Inter in Serie A (W3, D4), the only Nerazzurri success in the period came under Antonio Conte in charge, on 5 February 2021. Inter have lost their last two league matches, against Spezia and Juventus; the nerazzurri have not recorded three consecutive defeats in Serie A since the period between April and May 2017 (four in that case).
