Cagliari win the Serie A Week 27 game defeating Torino on Sunday 27 February 2022 at the Olimpico di Torino Stadium in Turin, Italy.  Cagliari needed these precious 3 points to avoid falling down in the relegation zone. Fresh from one victory and three draws, Cagliari’s big blow at the Olimpico, won with a score of 2-1 thanks to the goals by Raoul Bellanova and Alessandro Deiola.   Torino failed to win the home game breaking their previous unbeaten record in 12 of their last 14 matches (7W, 5D) against Cagliari in Serie A.  Cagliari provisionally goes to +3 on the relegation zone. Torino remain firm in eleventh place with 33 points collected in 26 games.

Cagliari opened the score in the 21st minute.  It is Raoul Bellanova to defeat Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Alberto Grassi.

Stats before the game.   Perfect balance in the last nine confrontations between Turin and Cagliari at the home of the grenades in Serie A: three wins on each side and three draws. The Sardinians, however, have won the last of these challenges and only in 2012 have they won two away wins in a row against the Piedmontese in the tournament.
Torino have not won any of the last four league games (2D, 2L): with Ivan Juric at the helm, the granata have never recorded five matches in a row without success in Serie A.
Cagliari scored 12 points (3W, 3N, 1P) in the seven Serie A matches of 2022: two more than in the entire first part of the season (10 in 19 matches). Since last January, in fact, only Napoli (15), Milan (14), Juventus and Verona (both 13) have earned more points than the Sardinians (12) in the top flight.
