Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Spezia, 17th position with 11 points and a negative goal difference of -16
Bologna, 11th position with 18 points and a negative goal difference of -5

Spezia desperately needed to win the Serie A Week 14 game against Bologna on Sunday 28 November 2021 at the Alberto Picco Stadium in Spezia, Italy.  Spezia risk going down into the relegation zone. Bologna reaching 21 points with a better position have only +10 lead over Spezia.   After a series of three consecutive home defeats, Spezia have obtained seven points in their last three home league games: in the last Serie A, after the first six games between the friendly walls, they had collected less than half of the points (three).

Bologna opening the score in the 83rd minute. Referee Massimi giving a penalty to Bologna conceded by M’Bala Nzola after a handball inside the penalty area. Marko Arnautovic converts the penalty with a right footed shot to the top right corner.

Stats before the game.  Spezia failed to win in the two games played against Bologna in the last championship: a 2-2 draw in the first leg, a 4-1 home win for the rossoblù in the return leg.  Bologna have won three of their last five away games against Ligurian teams in Serie A (1D, 1L), as many successes as in the previous 23 (7D, 13L).  Spezia are the fourth team to have conceded more than 30 goals in the first 13 Serie A matches of the 21st century after Parma (2014/15), Benevento (2017/18) and Torino (2020/21) – of which only the grenade were saved at the end of the year.  After the 0-1 defeat against Venezia, Bologna could lose two games in a row without scoring in Serie A for the first time since last April: on that occasion the opponents were Inter and Roma and both games ended 0-1.  Bologna won the last away match of the league, against Sampdoria: the rossoblù have not achieved two consecutive away wins in Serie A since June-July 2020, when the first of the two wins was again against the Sampdoria.
