👉 Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Sampdoria, 18th with 9 points and a negative goal difference of -10
Salernitana, 19th position with 7 points and a negative goal difference of -16

The battle for salvation between Salernitana and Sampdoria.  The victorious is Sampdoria winning the Serie A Week 13 game defeating Salernitana on Sunday 21 November 2021 at the Arechi Stadium in Salerno, Italy.  Two home victories for each of the two teams in the previous four in Serie A between Salernitana and Sampdoria: the last match in the top tournament at Arechi was dated March 1999 and ended 2-0 for the Campania players (Koloušek and Fresi the scorers).

Stats before the game.  The last matches in the league between Salernitana and Sampdoria took place in Serie B and the Sampdoria team won all their last three league games with the grenades (between 2002 and 2003).  Salernitana is the team that has closed the most games in this championship without scoring any goals (six), Sampdoria is just behind in this ranking with four matches without going to target.  With a possible defeat, Sampdoria would record their worst Serie A start in the first 13 days in the era of three points a win: now they have nine points in the standings and the negative record in the top 13 goes back to 10 points in 2013/14 with Delio Rossi on the bench until the 12th (later replaced by Mihajlovic).  Three defeats in a row for Sampdoria: the Blucerchiati have not reached four consecutive KOs in a single Serie A championship since September 2016, with Giampaolo on the bench.

Sampdoria taking the lead in the 40th minute with the own goal by Francesco Di Tacchio.

Sampdoria leading with a 0-2 in the 43rd minute. The goal by Antonio Candreva with a right footed shot to the top left corner. The assist is by forward Fabio Quagliarella.

👉Lineup Salernitana (4-3-1-2): Belec; Zortea, Gyomber, Gagliolo, Ranieri; Kastanos, Di Tacchio, L. Coulibaly; Ribery; Gondo, Juric

👉Lineup Sampdoria (4-3-3): Audero; Bereszynski, A. Ferrari, O. Colley, Augello; Thorsby, Ekdal, Verre; Candreva, Quagliarella, Caputo.
