Juventus claiming full leadership in Serie A. It’s a convincing victory at the Juventus Stadium. Sad news is for Chievo Verona because they fall from the 17th to the 19th position in the relegation zone battling for salvation now. Juventus winning their 12th home game.
It is midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah opening the score for Juventus in the 17th minute. An assist by forward Fernando Llorente to Asamoach to smack a left footed shot defeating Chievo Verona goalkeeper Michael Agazzi in the bottom left corner.
Midfield in action again for Juventus! In the 29th minute, midfielder Claudio Marchisio increasing the score with a right footed shot from close range leaving goalkeeper Agazzi full of frustration. Agazzi clearing the first attempt by midfielder Andrea Pirlo powerful free kick from almost 40 yards, but pushing the ball not enough to clear because Marchisio was there for the final kick.
Everything looking fine for Juventus until the 51st minute. An own goal by defender Martin Caceres shortening the distance. A whole mix…. an attempt to clear danger by defender Stephan Lichtensteiner,…. involuntarily, Caceres defeating his own goalkeeper Gigi Buffon.
Juventus securing the victory in the 58th minute following a corner conceded by goalkeeper Agazzi with the headed goal by forward Fernando Llorentes from close range in the bottom left corner.
A sad note is the reaction of Juventus fans when forward Sebastian Giovinco was substituted in the 72d minute by forward Carlos Tevez. Fans practically booing Giovinco while coach Antonio Conte supports Giovinco on his way to the bench. Incredible, players completely stop while Giovinco leaves the pitch. Good thing is that coach Conte not left him alone, but protected him…gee.. this is sad considering the whistles come from their own fans.
