It’s an emotional game for the ex AS Roma player Vincenzo Montella now coaching Fiorentina.  Great friendship gesture before the game seeing Roma Captain Francesco Totti walking towards Montella on the bench to greet his ex teammate.

Fiorentina opening the score in the 19th minute with forward Mario Gomez defeating AS Roma goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis with a left footed shot in the bottom right corner.  The assist is by midfielder David Pizarro.  De Sanctis protests, but the goal is valid and celebration at the Artemio starting….

Things changing in the second half.  AS Roma returning to equalize the score in the 49th minute.  It is the ex Fiorentina forward Adem Ljajic to equalize with a right footed shot.  Ljajic not celebrating the goal as he mentioned before the game for respect to the team that brought him to play in Italy.   It’s the 7th goal this season for Ljajic
