✅ Here is the Preview Empoli vs Venezia for the Serie A Week 3 game on Saturday 11 September 2021 at the Carlo Castellani Stadium in Empoli, Italy at 15:00.

Empoli with a super motivation after defeating Juventus on Week 2 at the Allianz Stadium reaching 3 points while Juventus remained with just 1 point.  Empoli kept a clean sheet at the Allianz (1-0) and have not collected two clean sheets in a row since January 2017 in Serie A (three in that case).  Empoli scored their first away goal against Juventus in Serie A (SA) since 2006. Curiously, they also beat Juventyus on matchday two 1-0 in 1987, but still were relegated that season.  Empoli return to the Castellani where they lost to Lazio in the season opener after an impressive run of 22 competitive outings without a single defeat (W14, D8).

Stats, Empoli and Venezia faced each other only in the 1998/99 season in Serie A: in that season Venezia winning with a 3-2 at Penzo and a draw 2-2 at the Castellani Stadium.
For Empoli, in case of a victory, would equal their best starts in a Serie A championship: the Tuscans achieved two victories in their first three games in 1986/87 and 2002/03, both seasons in which they achieved salvation.  Empoli have lost their first home game this season against Lazio, and have never started a Serie A season with two defeats in their first two home games.

We might say, the real test is for Venezia to collect at least 1 point or they could remain without points in the first three games played in a Serie A season for the third time: in 1949/50 and in 2001/02 the first two – in both previous cases they scored a goal.  Venezia have not scored a goal in their first two games of this league and may miss the appointment with the goal for three straight games in a single Serie A season for the first time since November 1999.  Venezia’s last Serie A victory came against a Tuscan team: 2-0 against Fiorentina in 2002, with Giuseppe Iachini at the helm.
