AC Milan failing to win the Serie A Week 8 game against Lecce ending with a draw on Sunday 20 October 2019 at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy.     This 2-2 draw helps AC Milan climbing from the 13th to the 12th position and Lecce leaving the relegation zone climbing from the 18th to the 15th position.

It’s a special game for new AC Milan Coach Stefano Pioli making his debut and also celebrating his 54th birthday!  Stefano Pioli was born on 20 October 1965 in Parma, Italy.

AC Milan opening the score in the 20th minute. Forward Hakan Calhanoglu defeating Lecce goalkeeper with a right footed shot in the top right corner. The assist is by Lucas Biglia.

Lecce equalizing for the 1-1 in the 62nd minute. Referee Pasqua giving a penalty to Lecce conceded by Andrea Conti following a handball inside the penalty area. Here is the action…. It is Khouma Babacar to take the penalty spot and bam, voila! AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma saves Babacar’s right footed shot in the bottom right corner! Oops… not so fast, the ball rebounds and Babacar this time not failing the occasion to smack from close range a right footed shot in the bottom left corner.

AC Milan taking the lead again in the 81st minute. It is Krzysztof Piatek to defeat goalkeeper Radu with a right footed shot in the box to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Hakan Calhanoglu.

Chaos for Milan. Lecce gaining momentum and equalizing for the 2-2 in the agonizing 92nd minute!!! It is Marco Calderoni to delight the Lecce fans at the San Siro Stadium after his left footed shot goal. The assist is by Jacopo Petriccione.

Italian Soccer Serie A congratulates Claudio Ranieri turning 68 and Stefano Pioli turning 54 celebrating their respective birthday on 20 October.   Claudio Ranieri was born on 20 October 1951 in Rome, Italy.  Stefano Pioli was born on 20 October 1965 in Parma, Italy.

  • The interesting detail is that Ranieri and Pioli will also make their debut today 20 October 2019 with their new teams. Claudio Ranieri is the new Sampdoria coach and Stefano Pioli is the new AC Milan coach. AC Milan is playing against Lecce at the San Siro Stadium and Sampdoria is playing against AS Roma at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium.  All the best for both!
