“When our wide players operate further forward something happens.” Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah

Kwadwo Asamoah believes the Bianconeri’s improved attacking threat in
the second half was aided by Antonio Conte’s decision to push the wide
players further into enemy territory.

The Ghanaian midfielder, tasked with keeping tricky customer Juan
Cuadrado quiet on his home patch, admits he was surprised by his
opposite number’s somewhat restricted role and looked to exploit this
after the break.

Speaking in Florence after the Bianconeri’s 1-0 win over
Fiorentina, the 25-year-old said: “Cuadrado defended a lot deeper than
he usually does. We spoke to Conte and decided to push up further.  Both
Isla and I were deep, normally we play a lot closer to the attackers.
This changed in the second half, when our wide players operate further
forward something happens.”
