“We need to keep the tension high all the way through until the end,” Juventus Coach Antonio Conte

Antonio Conte believes thorough pre-match preparation was the key to
this evening’s solid 3-1 victory over Inter at Juventus Stadium.

The manager guided his troops to an 11th successive Serie A home
win and was full of positives for the displays of the reigning champions
against a side tipped by many to be a realistic challenger for this
season’s Scudetto crown.

Whilst speaking to the media after the final whistle, Conte did,
however, mention the need for his men to maintain their high-intensity
approach throughout after Inter handed themselves a glimmer of a hope
with Rolando’s strike 18 minutes from time.

The 44-year-old began: “We prepared every minute detail in the
build-up to the game and I’m happy with the overall performance put in
by the players. Credit to them, they did well.

“It’s a pity about the goal we conceded, which gave us a few
anxious moments towards the end. We need to keep the tension high all
the way through until the end, all it takes is a fortuitous goal to open
things up again.

“We’re the league’s top scorers and could have netted more than
three tonight. Handanovic did very well in certain situations. I’ve
always wanted for my teams to play on the front foot. It’s always better
to play attacking football than sit back with men behind the ball.”

Ending with a thought on transfer deadline day capture Dani
Osvaldo, Conte said: “The player really wanted to come to Juventus and
actually significantly reduced his demands to secure the move. He’ll
improve the quality of our strike force and offer important competition
to those already here.”
