Sad news. Italy are eliminated and there are no excuses, period.  Another sad news is the terrible episode by Uruguay forward Luis Suarez biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini.  Totally unacceptable!  Lack of sportsmanship.  The clear red teeth mark left on Chiellini’s shoulder….  what puzzles me is that Referee Marco Rodriguez not even giving Suarez a yellow card!!! Absurd!  Reportedly, this the 3rd time that Suarez has bitten a player…

Italy finished 3rd in Group D.  Passing to the Round of 16 are Costa Rica in 1st place and Uruguay in second place.
