Mission accomplished for Juventus redeeming themselves after having a bad start in the Serie A.   Juventus win the Champions League Group Stage Group F Matchday 1 game defeating Malmo on Tuesday 14 September 2021 at the Malmö New Stadium in Malmo. The last time Juventus won their first seasonal game in an European competition was back in 2010 (EL Qualifying).

  •  Stats before the game.  Malmö and Juventus will meet for the third time in a European competition, this being the second time they both participate in the same Champions League group. Juventus won both home and away victories against the Swedish team in the 2014-15 season.  Juventus have never lost to a Swedish side in European competition, winning three times and drawing one of their previous four games, including three wins in their last three.  Massimiliano Allegri will direct his first Champions League match since April 2019, when his Juventus were eliminated by Ajax in the quarter-finals. Allegri has won 54% of his games leading Juventus in the competition: only Fabio Capello (60%) has a higher win rate among managers with more than 10 games leading the Old Lady in the competition.  Malmö have only scored three goals in their last 10 Champions League games, without scoring in eight of those. Meanwhile, the Swedish side have conceded a total of 34 goals in these 10 matches, averaging 3.4 per game.  Juventus have lost just one of their last 11 away matches in the Champions League group stage (8W, 2N), with that one defeat against Young Boys in the 2018-19 season. Juve have won each of the last five away games of the group stage, scoring at least two goals in each of them.

Juventus opening the score in the 23rd minute. It is Alex Sandro to defeat Malmo goalkeeper Diawara with a headed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Rodrigo Bentancur.Great for Bentancur delivered tonight his first Champions League assist, after 27 appearances in the competition.

Referee giving a penalty to Juventus. It is forward Paulo Dybala “La Joya” to convert the penalty with a left footed shot. The penalty is conceded by Lasse Nielsen.

Total inspiration. Juventus increasing the score for the 3-0 before ending the first half.
