“The important thing is winning, and we’re doing that well.” Juventus forward Fernando Llorente

After heading home in the 4-2 win that Juventus began the second half
of the season with tonight, Fernando Llorente has called on the team to
keep up their blistering form as their march through the campaign
continues.

Speaking after the final whistle, the Spaniard commented: “Our team
is doing really well as we are, we need to continue along this path.
The important thing is winning, and we’re doing that well.”

Llorente’s powerful header was his fourth aerial goal of the season
– more than any other Serie A player but Luca Toni has managed so far –
and it was an important step in a result that was by no means a
foregone conclusion against a plucky Blucerchiati side.

“It was important to win today and we’ve done it. Sampdoria proved
difficult opposition and played a great game. They caused us some
problems, and Mihajlovic’s men showed the strength they have in their
ranks.”

As the post-match interview drew to a close, the 28-year-old turned
his attentions to the Bianconeri’s next challenge: Tuesday’s Coppa
Italia quarter-final fixture with Roma, who kept up the heat on Antonio
Conte’s league-leaders with a 3-0 win over Livorno earlier today.

He concluded: “Now it’s time for the Coppa Italia. We’ll be playing against very strong opposition in Rome.”
