Italy head coach Antonio Conte has called up 30 players for the second of three steps in the Azzurri’s preparations for EURO 2016 has officially begun.   Conte will have time to check players and their fitness during this second training camp before making the official final 23-called up list on May 31.  As reported by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) the team will meet up on Tuesday 24 May.  The day will start with sponsorship related activities, while the first training session will take place in the afternoon.

AC Milan midfielder Riccardo Montolivo and Paris Saint Germain midfielder Thiago Motta will join the squad and have their fitness assessed.   Good news is for Udinese Calcio and Italy U19 youngster Alex Meret will also take part in the camp as an additional goalkeeper.

The Italian team will remain in Coverciano until May 28 when they will depart for Malta to take on Scotland at the Ta’Qali Stadium on 29th May (20:45 CEST) in their penultimate friendly ahead of the EUROs. Italy’s last preparatory match will be Italy vs Finland on June 6 at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium in Verona, Italy.
