🏆👉 Colombia win the Copa America Third Place defeating Peru on Friday 9 July 2021 at the Estádio Nacional de Brasília in Brazil.   The winner goal is scored in the agonizing 93rd minute by Luis Díaz.  This is the first meeting between Colombia and Peru in the third-place play-off at the Copa America.  Peru lost just one of the past 12 Copa America games against Colombia (W5 D6) and are undefeated in five (W2 D3).

– Peru, under Head Coach Ricardo Gareca, the only Copa America defeats (excluding penalties) have come against host nations. Brazil, hosts in 2019 and 2021, have beaten Peru three times. Gareca is unbeaten in 16 matches against non-hosts. Colombia have beaten Peru just twice in 17 Copa America games (D7 L8). Their only wins were in games they played at home in 1975 and 2001.

Colombia equalizing for the 1-1 in the 49th minute. It is Juventus player Juan Guillermo Cuadrado to defeat Peru goalkeeper Pedro Gallese with a free kick right footed shot to the bottom right corner.

Colombia taking the lead in the 66th minute. It is Luis Díaz to break the draw with a right footed shot.

Peru equalizing for the 2-2 with Benevento forward Gianluca Lapadula in the 82nd minute. Lapadula with a headed shot from very close range.
