Venezia defeated Genoa in the Serie A Week 5 on Saturday 21 September 2024 at the Penzo Stadium in Venice, Italy.  Venezia secured their first win, and it’s a fantastic morale booster for the team. Di Francesco's players were in total command throughout the match, showcasing a stellar performance from the very beginning. It’s a shame for Genoa, as they were quite lackluster for significant stretches of the game.

Both goals were netted in the second half, with Busio scoring first and Pohjanpalo adding another, including a penalty that was initially missed at the beginning of the half. The home team truly deserved their victory over a Genoa team that lacked creativity and bite in attack.

Next up, Venezia will challenge Roma, and Genoa will face Juventus.
