Real Madrid triumphed over Inter in the UEFA Champions League Matchday 1 League Phase at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in Madrid, Spain.

Inter will need to learn from this defeat and focus on their upcoming match against Club Brugge at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.

In the second half, Inter fought back and controlled the ball for 59% of the time, eventually scoring when Carlos Augusto netted in the 77th minute. However, Real Madrid's defense held firm to clinch a 2–1 victory.

Stats BEFORE the game Real Madrid vs Inter

Real Madrid's coach, José Mourinho, will face his former team, Inter, with whom he won the UEFA Champions League in 2010 at the Bernabéu (2-0 against Bayern Munich). Interestingly, the current Inter coach, Christian Chivu, was part of Mourinho's starting XI in that final.

The Real Madrid team has triumphed in all four UEFA Champions League encounters against Inter this century; specifically, the Blancos are the team that the Nerazzurri have faced the most in major European competitions this century without securing a win.

Inter has lost and failed to score in each of their last three UEFA Champions League matches against Real Madrid. The only other time the Nerazzurri went four consecutive matches without scoring in the Champions League against a single opponent was against Barcelona, from 2003 to 2009.
