Result Como - Leipzig, Thursday, 10 September 2026, UEFA Champions League, Matchday 1

A dream debut for Como in their first-ever Champions League appearance! Como triumphed over RB Leipzig on Thursday, September 10, 2026, during Matchday 1 of the UEFA Champions League League Phase at the Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium. A historic note, Cesc Fabregas's team scored four against Leipzig. Martin Baturina netted Como's inaugural goal in the UEFA Champions League. Como now sits with three points in the overall standings, eagerly awaiting their next European challenge against Feyenoord, scheduled for October 14.

This victory is quite convincing, showcasing not only personality but also an enviable style of play. It's a win to remember, and the fans are relishing this historic moment. The Larians took the lead just 15 minutes into the match with Martin Baturina and doubled their advantage before halftime with Anastasios Douvikas in the 38th minute.

In the second half, during a strong moment for the Germans, Assane Diao scored the third goal in the 54th minute. Demichelis's men attempted to respond with a goal from Andrija Maksimovic (58'), but Da Cunha and his teammates held firm, sealing the match with a final goal from Máximo Perrone in stoppage time, the 90th minute!

It's incredible to think that Como was playing in Italy's fourth tier (Serie D) just a few years ago. Then, they achieved success in Serie A last season, finishing fourth to secure a spot in the Champions League. Former star player Cesc Fàbregas now leads the team from the sidelines. Indeed, Como is living a fairy tale, and their fans are absolutely loving it.

Note: Como 1907 has made it to the UEFA Champions League for the very first time in the club's 119-year journey after finishing fourth in Serie A. Como was reborn in Serie D following bankruptcy in 2017, and the Hartono brothers took over in 2019, helping the club ascend back up the Italian football hierarchy.

A huge shoutout to Coach Cesc Fàbregas for leading Como back to Serie A in 2024 after a 21-year hiatus and achieving a top-four finish in May 2026.

Let's all rally behind Como's team and show our support! Forza, Como!

In the 15th minute, a moment for the history books as COMO nets their very first Champions League goal! It was Martin Baturina who found the net after a Douvikas cross was intercepted by Baku in the box, allowing the ball to fall perfectly for Baturina. The Croatian midfielder skillfully sidestepped and unleashed a powerful shot into the bottom-left corner! What a fantastic European debut! This marks the club's inaugural goal in Champions League history. The fans are ecstatic, celebrating this monumental achievement, and I couldn't be happier!
