🇮🇹 Pisa and Atalanta concluded their Serie A Week 21 match in a draw on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the Arena Garibaldi – Stadio Romeo Anconetani in Pisa.
Pisa is in urgent need of points to steer clear of relegation and has not secured a win since November 7th, when they achieved a 1-0 victory at home against Cremonese.
A fantastic debut for Pisa's Rafiu Durosinmi, who netted the equalizing goal.
Meanwhile, Palladino's soaring Atalanta is enjoying a strong run in the league, with three consecutive wins and five victories in their last six games, as they strive to strengthen their position in the European qualification zone. All eyes will be on Atalanta and their new recruit, Giacomo Raspadori.
⚽️ At last, after nearly 90 minutes of play, Atalanta gained the upper hand in the 84th minute. Nikola Krstovic netted a goal from very close range with a right-footed shot aimed at the top left corner. The assist came from Kamaldeen Sulemana. Ederson passed the ball to the newly brought on Sulemana, who then sent in a cross that reached the former Lecce striker, allowing him to score from a short distance. The goal was validated following a quick VAR review.
⚽️ An exciting finish! Pisa managed to level the score in the 87th minute. Rafiu Durosinmi scored with a header into the bottom right corner, assisted by Mehdi Léris who delivered a perfect cross.

Pisa secured victories in two of their initial three matches (with 1 draw) against Atalanta in Serie A; however, in the subsequent six matches, they were unable to achieve any wins, resulting in two draws (including the first leg) and four losses.
Pisa and Atalanta have clashed four times at Pisa's home stadium in Serie A. The home side was unbeaten in the first two meetings (1 win, 1 draw), but they lost the last two encounters in this series.
Atalanta has not triumphed over a newly promoted team in Serie A since January 25, 2025 (when they won 2-1 against Como) and since that date, they have recorded three draws and two losses; the Bergamo side has not experienced six games without a win against Serie B teams since 2009.
With this upcoming match, Pisa will become the team with the most Friday matches in this championship, currently standing at three (1 win, 1 draw, 1 loss), matching Milan, Lecce, and Sassuolo; in contrast, Atalanta has not played on this day of the week for over a year (the last match was on December 6, 2024, against Milan, ending in a 2-1 victory for Atalanta).
==========================
The match will be officiated by referee Matteo Marchetti from the Ostia Lido section. He will be supported by Filippo Meli from Parma and Francesco Luciani from Milan, while Livio Marinelli from Tivoli will take on the role of fourth official. The VAR responsibilities will be managed by Valerio Marini from Roma 1, with Federico La Penna from Roma 1 acting as AVAR.
