Napoli continues to defend their title! Napoli secured a victory in the Serie A Week 6 match on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Naples. The situation was tense as Napoli came from behind to defeat Genoa 2-1. Genoa initially took the lead in the 33rd minute with a back-heel goal from Ekhator. However, in the second half, Anguissa equalized with a header in the 57th minute, and Hojlund sealed the win in the 75th minute after a save from Leali. Unfortunately, Lobotka and Politano sustained injuries. With this win, Napoli reaches 15 points and climbs to the top position.

In their upcoming league match, Napoli will travel to Torino, while Genoa will host Parma.

A chilly shower at the Maradona! Genoa quiets the Stadium in the 33rd minute, taking the lead. Jeff Ekhator netted from very close range with a right-footed shot to the center, beating Napoli's goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic. The assist came from Brooke Norton-Cuffy. Norton-Cuffy maneuvered past Olivera and delivered a cross into the center, where Ekhator finished with a brilliant backheel from inside the six-yard box.

Napoli leveled the score in the 57th minute. Frank Anguissa found the net with a header from just a few feet away, directing it into the bottom left corner. Spinazzola delivered a cross, Vasquez made a dive before Hojlund, and Anguissa successfully headed the ball into the goal.

   Napoli 2 - 1 Genoa

Napoli changed the game in the 75th minute. Rasmus Højlund found the net with a left-footed strike to the bottom right corner. Leali managed to deflect Anguissa's dangerous shot, but he was helpless against Højlund, who scored with his left foot inside the box.
