AC Milan defeated Lecce in Serie A Week 2 on Friday, 29 August 2025, at the Via del Mare Stadium. The Rossoneri achieved their first league victory after their defeat against Cremonese on Round 1. Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic played key roles in securing the win. Milan was able to celebrate again after 2 goals from Matteo Gabbia and Santiago Giménez were disallowed.

 AC Milan began the match with great intensity, pushing Lecce deep into their own penalty area right from the start. The Rossoneri managed to score first with a header from Matteo Gabbia, who jumped unchallenged in the middle of the area following a clash with Coulibaly, his direct opponent. However, after a VAR review, Referee Marinelli changed his mind, ruling out the defender's goal due to a foul on the opposing player.

AC Milan took the lead in the 66th minute. Ruben Loftus-Cheek found the net with a header aimed at the top right corner. Luka Modric provided the assist. Wow, it's great that this goal counted! (Milan had 2 goals disallowed)

Lecce turned out to be Christian Pulisic's preferred target. In the 86th minute, "Captain America" Pulisic capitalized on a significant mistake made by Danilo Veiga. The fullback tried to make a knee-first stop, which created an opportunity for the American, who scored with a left-footed shot from the left side of the box into the bottom left corner.
