England triumphed over Norway with a score of 2-1 in the Quarterfinal match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup held in Miami, Florida on Saturday, July 11, 2026. Midfielder Jude Bellingham was the standout player, netting both goals for England, while Andreas Schjelderup scored the only goal for Norway. After falling behind due to Schjelderup's goal, England made a strong comeback. Bellingham emerged as the hero, leading England to a coveted spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Semifinal.

England will compete against either Argentina or Switzerland on Wednesday, July 15, at Atlanta Stadium (Mercedes-Benz Stadium) located in Atlanta, Georgia. The winner will proceed to the World Cup Final.

Earlier in the tournament, Norway finished second in Group I with 6 points, defeating Senegal and Iraq, but losing to France, before eliminating the Ivory Coast 2-1 in the round of 32.

England secured their place in the last eight by defeating co-hosts Mexico 3-2 in a thrilling last-16 match at the Azteca Stadium. The Three Lions reached this stage by topping Group L with seven points, winning against Croatia and Panama, and drawing with Ghana, followed by a 2-1 victory over the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the round of 32.

⚽️ Norway takes the lead in the 36th minute with a goal from Andreas Schjelderup! Martin Odegaard plays the ball wide to Schjelderup, who skillfully maneuvers around Konsa on the outside. He sends what appears to be a cross aimed at the far post, but it zips past goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and ricochets into the top corner off the post!
