Match statistic
Fiorentina is gearing up to face AC Milan in the Serie A Week 7 match on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Milan, Italy. Historically, Milan has had the upper hand, winning 78 out of 168 Serie A encounters with Fiorentina, with only Roma being a tougher opponent for them, having 80 victories in total.
In their recent matchups, Milan has triumphed in six of the last eight league games against Fiorentina, suffering just two losses. This includes victories in both encounters from the previous season. The Rossoneri haven’t managed to string together more consecutive wins against the Viola in Serie A since a streak of seven from 2008 to 2011.
The last 13 Serie A clashes at the Franchi have been quite competitive, with both teams securing four wins each and five matches ending in a draw. The most recent encounter saw Milan edge out Fiorentina with a 2-1 victory on March 30.
Fiorentina have drawn four of their first six Serie A games of the season (W1 L1) for only the fourth time in their history, after 2000/01, 1980/81 and 1941/42; only in 1980/81, however, have the Viola recorded five draws in the first seven games of a Serie A championship.
Fiorentina have remained unbeaten in 10 (5W, 5D) of their last 11 home league games; however, the Tuscan team's only home defeat in the period came against Milan: 1-2, on March 30.
Paulo Fonseca has won the last three matches in charge of Milan in the league; only once in Serie A has the Portuguese coach recorded four wins in a row: between July and August 2020, in charge of Roma.
Milan - the best attack in this championship (14 goals - double those of the Viola, 7) - in the previous 24 seasons only in 2002/03 have they scored more than the 14 goals (19 in that case) of the current Serie A in the first six games (14 also in 2020/21).
Milan is the only team against which Moise Kean has already scored with two different teams in the Italian top flight (on 17 December 2017 with Hellas Verona and on 6 April 2019 with Juventus). In addition, among the forwards in this Serie A only Valentin Mihaila (-1.6) has a greater negative difference than Kean (-1.4) between goals scored and Expected Goals (two goals against an xG of 3.4).
Player Stats
Christian Pulisic has netted goals in his last three Serie A games. Throughout his time in the top five European leagues, he has yet to score in four straight matches, with his previous best being three in a row during October and November 2019 while playing for Chelsea.
Rafael Leão has scored a total of four goals against Fiorentina in league play, with his first Serie A goal coming on September 29, 2019, at the Meazza. He has a higher goal count against Lecce, where he has scored five times. The Portuguese player has also been on the scoresheet in his last three league matches against the Viola. However, he has not yet accomplished scoring in four consecutive games against any one opponent in Serie A.
