Italy 1 – 1 Poland
78′ Jorginho (pen) 40′ Piotr Zielinski
The “Mancini Era” starts with a draw in the UEFA Nations League Group Stage – League A – Group 3 game on Friday 7 September 2018 at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium in Bologna, Italy. It is not the ideal start, however, we might say that Italy fight back at least to grab this draw and not losing the game. Italy now unbeaten in 46 competitive home games.
Surprisingly, it is Poland to open the score in the 40th minute. Piotr Zielinski silencing Italian fans at the Renato Dall’Ar Stadium when defeating Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma with a right footed shot in the bottom right corner. Assisted by Robert Lewandowski with a cross.
Italy equalized for the 1-1 in the 78th minute. Referee giving a penalty to Italy conceded by Poland Jakub Blaszczykowski after a foul on Federico Della Chiesa inside the penalty area. It is Jorginho to convert the penalty defeating Poland goalkeeper with a right footed shot in the bottom left corner. It’s a relief for Italy recovering at least this draw instead of losing the match.
77′ Cool as you like from #Jorginho to send Fabianski the wrong way from the spot and we’re level! #ItalyPoland 🇮🇹🇵🇱 1-1 pic.twitter.com/IjTv0NlSh4
