🇮🇹     Italy, after failing to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, has an important game as European Champions for the Finalissima against Copa América champions Argentina at Wembley in London England on Wednesday 1 June 2022.  The Italian team returning to Wembley, in the stadium where they won the European champion less than a year ago.  For the first time since 1993, the European champion Italy and last Copa America champion return to face each other, as it happened the last time 29 years ago (when it was originally named Artemio Franchi Cup in honor of a great Italian sports administrator).

It is certainly a memorable match for Giorgio Chiellini, who will leave the national team in this very final. Ideally, Chiellini would love to say goodbye by adding his last trophy with the Azzurri.  Before the Finalissima, President Gabriele Gravina will present the Captain with a trophy to acknowledge his extraordinary career with the National Team.

Argentina have already played this competition in 1993, when they defeated Denmark on penalties, while the other final was played in 1985, with France winning Uruguay. The match does not include extra time: in the event of a tie in the 90th minute, everything will be decided from the spot.

The last official crossing, on the other hand, was played in the semifinal of the World Cup in Italy ’90, when the team led by the late forward Diego Armando Maradona was right on penalties. The Italian national team has not beaten Argentina since 1987 (3-1 in a friendly match) and the balance is 6 Italy, 4 Argentina, and 5 draws.
