Training camp at Coverciano begins: Lazzari out, first session in the afternoon

One month and a half after the triumph at Wembley, the Azzurri are now back at Coverciano as they get back to World Cup qualifying. The Azzurri met at the Federal Technical Centre yesterday evening and will have their first training session this afternoon in preparation for games against Bulgara (Florence, Stadio Franchi, 2 September at 20:45 CEST), Switzerland (Basel, St. Jakob Park, 5 September at 20:45 CEST) and Lithuania (Reggio Emilia, Stadio del Tricolore, 8 September at 20:45 CEST).

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) reports that the players involved in yesterday evening’s matches (Sunday 29 August) – Salernitana vs. Roma in Serie A and Reims vs. PSG in Ligue 1 – will join the group today. Lazio defender Manuel Lazzari pulled out of the squad after picking up a knock during the game Lazio against Spezia.
