Juventus defeats Napoli 2-0 with standout performances from Alajbegovic and Boga

Juventus got back to winning form by defeating Napoli 2-0 in Serie A, with stunning long-distance strikes from Kerim Alajbegovic and Jeremie Boga. The away side went down to 10 players after Luca Marianucci received a red card, which made their challenge even harder.

Both teams came into the fixture tied on 14 points and feeling pressure to secure a good result. Juventus had suffered three losses in their last four league matches, including a 2-0 loss at Genoa, whereas Napoli came in following a convincing 4-1 victory against Monza.

Juventus and Napoli trade chances in an entertaining first half

Napoli almost went ahead after eight minutes when Lorenzo Lucca connected with Matteo Politano’s delivery via a diving header. Guglielmo Vicario made a superb stop to deny the attempt, preventing the striker from scoring a memorable goal on a rare starting appearance.

Juventus also looked dangerous from dead-ball situations. Juan Cabal’s header from a corner hit the woodwork, and the home side later had penalty claims of their own after Cabal collided with Matias Olivera. No spot-kick was given to either team, despite additional appeals from Napoli following incidents involving Noa Lang and Juventus defenders.

Both teams squandered promising chances. Lang and Alajbegovic shot over from decent positions, and Bremer also sent his effort above the bar after Alajbegovic had beaten two opponents on the dribble.

During first-half stoppage time, Alajbegovic forced Alex Meret into action with a strong angled attempt from inside the penalty area. The Napoli goalkeeper made the stop, and Pierre Kalulu was unable to convert the rebound.

Alajbegovic and Boga net spectacular goals for Juventus

Tactical adjustments were made at halftime, with Luca Marianucci shifting to right-back as Juventus seemed to change to a 3-5-2 setup. Kolo Muani then wasted a promising counter-attacking chance by overhitting his pass toward Alajbegovic.

The deadlock was finally broken through a piece of individual quality. Alajbegovic picked up the ball near the edge of the box and fired a powerful shot into the top corner, with the effort going in off the far post to give Juventus the lead.

Napoli’s chances of mounting a comeback took another hit when Marianucci was shown a second yellow card for stepping on Cabal’s foot, reducing the visitors to 10 men. Matias Olivera also had to leave the field after picking up a muscular issue.

Juventus capitalized on their numerical advantage by scoring a second goal through Boga. His strike was nearly identical to Alajbegovic’s opener, as he bent a right-footed shot from outside the area into the far bottom corner to seal the 2-0 win.

The result provided Juventus with a much-needed reply after their recent league difficulties, while Napoli were left to ponder a loss that grew more challenging following Marianucci’s sending-off.
