Inter win the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa Quarterfinal defeating AS Roma on Tuesday 8 February 2022 at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milan, Italy.   Inter will play the Coppa Italia Semifinals against the winner of AC Milan vs Lazio.  Inter and Roma met four times in the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup and on three occasions the Nerazzurri made it through, the only exception being 1986, the year in which Roma then won the trophy.  Inter made history in 2010 under José Mourinho when they lifted a historic treble winning the Serie A, Italian Cup & UEFA Champions League titles.

Stats before the game.  Since the 2004/05 season, Inter and Roma have faced each other 13 times in the Italian Cup, this is the most played match of the period in the competition: seven Nerazzurri wins against the four Giallorossi, completing two draws.
In the last seven occasions in which Inter and Roma have met in the Italian Cup, always between quarter-finals, semifinals and final, there has been a substantial balance: three wins for each side and a draw. Inter have lost only two of their 11 home games against Roma in the Coppa Italia (8W, 1N): the first (in 1937) and the last (in 2013, with goals from Jonathan and Alvarez for the Nerazzurri while for the Giallorossi Torosidis goal and Destro brace).  After three consecutive eliminations in this round, Inter have passed the last two quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia and have not passed the round for three editions in a row since 2011 (eight in that case). Roma have been eliminated in the last two occasions in which they played in the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup (1-7 against Fiorentina in 2019, 1-3 against Juventus in 2020); the Giallorossi have not been eliminated in three editions in a row at this stage since 2001/02, when they reached four.

🏆🇮🇹👉Lineup INTER (3-5-2): Handanovic; D’Ambrosio, Skriniar, Bastoni; Darmian, Barella, Brozovic, Vidal, Perisic; Dzeko, Sanchez.

🏆🇮🇹👉Lineup ROMA (3-5-2): Rui Patricio; Mancini, Smalling, Ibanez; Karsdorp, Oliveira, Veretout, Mkhitaryan, Vina; Zaniolo, Abraham.
