Italian Soccer Serie A

Torino Football Club is glad to announce that Davide Nicola has been appointed the new head coach on Tuesday 19 January 2021 replacing Coach Marco Giampaolo.

The reality is that Torino is not having a good season.  Up to Week 18, Torino is in the 18th position with only 13 points winning only 2 games, 2 draws, and 7 lost.  Torino’s objective will be to save themselves and remain in the Serie A avoiding relegation to the Serie B.

Davide Nicola was born in Luserna San Giovanni, near Torino, on March 5, 1973. As a player he wore the Torino kit in the 2005/2006 season, helping the granata reach serie A with his goal against Mantova in overtime of the playoff final. In 2010 he began his coaching career. Unforgettable is the challenge he accomplished with Crotone, with 20 points obtained in the last 9 matches, helping the club remain in serie A. Another big accomplishment was made last season, helping Genoa avoid relegation.

President Urbano Cairo welcomes back Nicola and wishes him and his staff good luck, Sempre Forza Toro!

Coach Nicola already put to work and having his first training with his new players at the Filadelfia.  As reported by Torino official website, the players  initially worked in the gym before following a technical-tactical session. Nicolas Nkoulou did not take part in the practice due to a muscular problem. Scheduled for tomorrow is another training in sight of Friday’s match against Benevento.
