Atalanta making the official announcement signing  23-year old Dutch forward Sam Lammers on a permanent deal and undisclosed terms.  The announcement was made on Tuesday 22 September 2020. Lammers is transferring from PSV Eindhoven.

Welcome to the Serie A!

Sam Lammers was born in Tilburg on the 30th of April 1997, he is a forward with a remarkable physical structure who knows how to combine strength with technical and tactical qualities, skilled in finishing. He came up through the PSV academy and he was promoted to the U21 squad aged 18, scoring 28 goals in 47 matches in his last two seasons in the Jupiler League. He also stood out in two editions of the UEFA Youth League, scoring against Manchester United, Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich.

He made his debut for the first team aged 19, first in the cup against Roda in September and then in the Eredivisie, the Dutch top flight in October 2016, ending his first season among the “greats” with two goals in five games in the league and then contributing the following year with seven appearances to win the title.

In 2018-2019 he joined Heerenveen on loan where he shone with goals, 16 in the league, 19 also counting the cup. An important season that earned him his return to PSV. In July 2019, coming on for Lozano in the final minutes of the game, it took him eight minutes to score in the 3-2 win over Basel in the first leg of the second qualifying round for the UEFA Champions League.

He played for the Netherlands youth national teams. His scoring average with the orange U19 was extraordinary: 10 goals in 14 games, three of which (against Croatia, England and Germany) in the final phase of the European championship. He made his debut for the Netherlands U21 in March 2017 against Finland, who he scored 3 goals in 11 appearances with.
