Roma are in the United States!!!! AS Roma starting the US Tour 2014 after landing on Monday 21 July evening. AS Roma having their third summer tour. Roma coach Rudi Garcia preparing the team for the 2014 – 2015 Season and games in the United States are a pre-season training. Rudi Garcia’s men will take in Boston, Denver, Dallas and Philadelphia as they are playing in the International Champions Cup which include teams Liverpool, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Inter.
Great news is that Captain and top “Roman Captain” Francesco Totti is leading the team. Roma departing from Fiumicino Airport around 16:00 Roman time. There were relaxed faces and a few laughs as the Giallorossi party arrived at the airport in good spirit.
As reported by AS Roma official website, before taking off there was a chance meeting with a rival of many a past battle: ex-Lazio captain Alessandro Nesta. There was just enough time for Daniele De Rossi to joke about with the former Italy center-back and a few quick snaps before everyone had to board the plane.
After climbing aboard, Adem Ljajic decided to try his hand at photography: “stealing” our official photographer’s camera, he moved down the aisle firing off frames, immortalizing his team-mates in their ready-for-take-off poses. Adem’s handiwork wasn’t bad at all – a sharp shooter even without the ball!
The Giallorossi then sat back for a long but fortunately relaxing flight, watching films, listening to music and chatting about their recent vacations and what 2014/15 has in store for Roma.
At 18:00 local time (midnight back in Rome), the Giallorossi landed at Boston’s Logan Airport. Barely had we set foot on US soil than the entire team was whisked off to Nebo for dinner: an invitation to the Pallotta sisters’ restaurant has become something of a tradition during Roma’s visits to the president’s city.
Garcia will have his troops back on the field for practice tomorrow ahead of their first friendly on Wednesday, against Liverpool at Fenway Park.
