Como and Parma ended the Serie A Week 8 match with a draw on Saturday 19 October 2024 at the Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium. Parma has maintained an unbeaten record in their last two encounters with Como in Serie A during the 2002/03 season, achieving a 2-0 victory in the first leg at the Tardini and securing a 2-2 draw in the return match at the Sinigaglia.
The match at the Sinigaglia was a thrilling encounter between two teams that demonstrated their ability to play excellent football. The standings saw little change, with both sides keeping their positions and earning a point each. The guests opened the scoring in the 20th minute with a fantastic backheel goal from Bonny, assisted by Hernani. Parma almost went into halftime with a 2-0 lead, but Bernabè’s shot hit the crossbar. Just before the halftime whistle, Como leveled the score when Fadera set up Nico Paz, who netted his first goal in Serie A.
In the second half, Como came out with great intensity, trying to take the lead within the first fifteen minutes. However, the best chance fell to the visitors, who hit the post again with a close-range effort from Mihaila.
Next up, Como will face Torino away, while Parma will welcome Empoli.
The match development
Parma took the lead in the 20th minute. A counterattack by Pecchia’s team with Almqvist serving Hernani, low cross for Ange-Yoan Bonny who with a masterly backheel slips it past goalkeeper Emil Audero!

8+8 – Among players from the Big-5 European leagues and respective second divisions to have scored 8+ goals and provided 8+ assists in the last two seasons, only Savinho (10/04/04) and Lamine Yamal (13/07/07) are younger than Ange-Yoan Bonny (25/10/03). Revelation.#ComoParma

Stats before the game:
In the context of both Serie A and Serie B, Parma has remained unbeaten in 12 of their last 13 contests against Como, with a record of 5 wins and 7 draws. The sole victory for Como during this timeframe occurred on 18 March 2023, when they triumphed 2-0 at home.
In the most recent six matchups between newly promoted teams in Serie A, the home side has emerged victorious on five occasions, with one draw, following a period in which no home victories were recorded in the prior seven matches (4 draws and 3 losses).
Como has not lost any of their last six encounters with newly promoted teams in Serie A, recording four draws and two losses. Their most recent victory against such teams was on May 14, 1989, when they defeated Atalanta 1-0.
Following a thrilling 3-2 victory over Hellas Verona in their latest match at the Sinigaglia, Como is aiming for back-to-back home wins in Serie A for the first time since October-November 1988.
On the other hand, Parma has struggled against newly promoted teams, remaining winless in their last six matches with four draws and two losses. Their last triumph in this context was on August 2, 2020, when they won 4-3 against Lecce.
After a goalless draw with Bologna in their latest outing, Parma is looking to secure two consecutive clean sheets in Serie A for the first time since April 2019. Interestingly, that was also the last instance when the Ducali managed to draw two matches without any goals.
Parma has received the highest number of red cards in Europe’s top five leagues this season, totaling four, which ties them with Sevilla.
