ALL BEHIND POLI

(IN THE PHOTO: Andrea Poli in action versus Catania)MILAN – On the 23rd of February during Sampdoria-Milan, Andrea Poli was rested after his European exploits and efforts against Atletico Madrid in Milan’s previous match. He wasn’t one of the protagonists of the rossoneri’s 2-0 win that day, but as soon as the Genoese crowd got a glimpse of their former player the whole stadium rose to their feet in a rousing reception for Andrea Poli. That gesture from the Sampdoria crowd was a sign of the excellent impression that Andrea made during his time with the Genoa based club. The same is happening now at his new club Milan. After a good start in which he scored two goals in a month both away from the San Siro against Verona and then Bologna, Poli had a difficult period which also reflected the squad’s stuttering form. After Seedorf’s arrival, he spent a whole month on the bench. However, coming off the bench in Milan-Bologna, with the score still tied at 0-0, he showed the grit and determination that all coaches want to see.Andrea Poli has been the stand out man for Milan against both Atletico and Juventus. The outcome of those matches perhaps weren’t the best, but if the side’s overall performances have improved then it’s in large part thanks to Poli. After his head injury against Juventus, all the fans were anxious to know how their man was doing and hoping to have him back available for the Udinese match. With 1815 minutes played this season, Andrea Poli, the polite, attentive and committed man, is starting to make his mark at the club.
