Ecco le principali dichiarazioni del centrocampista gialloblù, rilasciate in vista della sfida contro l'Udinese, in programma lunedì 6 gennaio (ore 15) allo stadio "Friuli" di Udine: "Il mio 2013? E' stato un anno con tante soddisfazioni, abbiamo vinto il campionato e riportato l'Hellas in Serie A e per me tutto questo è un motivo d'orgoglio. Personalmente vorrei stare sempre in campo, ma credo di aver disputato una prima parte di campionato molto buona. Ora cercherò di mettere in difficoltà il mister per avere più spazio e giocare con più continuità. L'Udinese? E' una squadra tosta, sono stati in Champions League ed hanno un grande gruppo. Dovremo essere concentrati, stare attenti e fare il nostro gioco, cercando sempre di vincere. Se siamo pronti a riprendere il campionato? Noi dobbiamo correre e soffrire, nessuno ci regala nulla. Il mister ci sta facendo sudare parecchio e stiamo lavorando bene, per preparare al meglio una gara fondamentale. Il mio momento? Mi alleno sempre al massimo, cerco di essere pronto per riuscire a dare il meglio quando il mister mi chiama in causa. Il nostro obiettivo? Pensiamo a partita dopo partita, dobbiamo fare più punti possibili per arrivare a quota 40, poi si potrà pensare ad altro".

Fiorentina and Livorno captains Manuel Pasqual and Andrea Luci held a joint press conference at the Stadio Franchi today ahead of the Tuscan derby their teams will contest on Sunday. The purpose of the conference was to raise public awareness about fibrodisplasia ossificante progressiva (FOP), a rare genetic disorder which Luci's son was sadly diagnosed with a few months ago.

Andrea Luci: "I'd like to thank all the Florentine radio stations, the media and websites who have helped me. Our aim is to raise as much funds as possible for research. I know the pharmaceutical companies looking for a cure are experimenting on animals while they wait for approval to continue their work on humans. FOP is a debilitating disorder that turns soft tissues and muscles into 'bone' over time."

Manuel Pasqual: "We came up with the idea for this initiative when we found out about the difficult situation Andrea's family is going through. We wanted to create a movement to support this association. On Sunday we'll take to the field wearing special jerseys which will then be auctioned off to raise more funds. This is children we're talking about – our future – and I think it's right to offer all our support. We'll fight as hard on the pitch in the derby as we will off it to beat this disease."

VIAREGGIO (Lu) – Trentadue squadre partecipanti, divise in 8 gironi. Venerdì 3 gennaio (ore 11), presso la sala di rappresentanza del comune di Viareggio, sono stati sorteggiati i gruppi della 66a edizione della Viareggio Cup. La Primavera gialloblù, allenata da Massimo Pavanel, è stata inserita nel girone 7 con Empoli, PSV Eindhoven e LIAC New York. Agli ottavi di finale si qualificheranno le prime classificate di ogni girone, a cui si aggiungeranno le teste di serie Juventus, Inter, Fiorentina, Milan (qualificate d'ufficio, affronteranno le quattro migliori seconde).

La manifestazione, che inizierà lunedì 3 febbraio, vedrà l'esordio dei gialloblù il 4 febbraio, con le altre due sfide in programma il 6 e l'8 febbraio. Il calendario delle gare del girone ed i campi di gioco verranno decisi lunedì 27 gennaio (ore 11), durante la presentazione ufficiale del torneo al Gran Teatro Puccini di Torre del Lago (Viareggio – Lucca). La finale si disputerà lunedì 17 febbraio.
